We continued on Swiss bike Route # 1 south to Martigny and then we turned west into the valley of the Rhone River to Sion. Much of the bike route is right
along the Rhone River and dedicated to bikes and walking. It's a good idea to leave the route now and then if you want to
see the villages.
From Sion, we took a train to Zermatt (via Visp) and spent the night in Zermatt.

Helpful Tips:
Many of the trains from Visp to Zermatt do not allow bikes. So check the schedule. That being said, we caught
a train that supposedly did not allow bikes but had 1/3rd of a car dedicated to bike storage. The conductor had to unlock
it for us; which he did with a smile.
