Nyon to Aigle

Description

On day 2, we continued on Swiss bike Route # 1 for a 78 km ride around the north shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) to Aigle.

The route is genarally flat as it follows the lake, but has some decent climbs as you follow the route de vingobles up into the foothills.

The route has fantastic views of the lake and the mountains of Switzerland and France on the other side, as well as going through the cities of Lausanne, Vevey and Montreax.

Helpful Tips:

The Swiss bike route spends a lot of time on a mid sized highway that is right on the lake.  Even on a Sunday, it was fairly busy.   We used the Michelin 1/200,000 map and Mike's GPS to find some quieter roads up in the hills and right along the water.

Spend some time in Lausanne.  The shorefront is amazing.
