As the three of us are arriving after long flights, we limited our first day to a couple of relatively short rides.  

 

Mike and Dave took a 15 km ramble into central Geneva while we waited for Steve to arrive from Denver.  It was surprisingly easy to get into the center and overall, people were very bike friendly. 

 

When Steve arrived, we headed from the Geneva Airport about 30 km along the northern shore of Lake Geneva to Nyon, where we stayed our first night.   We followed our noses, a nice Swiss biker that we met and Swiss bike Route # 1, The Rhone Route, to Nyon.

 

You need to buy an insurance sticker at the Swiss Post Office.  It is 6 Francs.
