On to Milan

Description

We finished this leg of the trip with a 50 km ride from Cernobbio on Lake Como to the train station in Milan.

I would not reccomend the route that we took.  We were heading towards Cantu, but had trouble finding a small road out of Como.  We reached Cantu and some seemingly friendly gents in a bike shop told us to go towards Cermanate and take the S35.  This turned out to be a four lane highway and got old quickly.  We found a smaller road in Bariassina and the remainder of the ride into Milan was flat and pleasant.

Helpful Tips:

The Lonely Planet Cycling Italy book has a route from Como to Milan that follows along the lake from to Lecco and then to Milan, though at 130 km it may be a two day ride versus the one day that we took.
